Personal profile

Research

I hold a PhD in Business Law and I am currently Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration at the School of Economics and Management. My work focuses on transnational regulation, corporate reporting, auditing and assurance. My current research projects encompass regulatory issues relating to emerging corporate reporting and assurance practices, ethical codes for the accountancy profession from a historical and contemporary perspective and the development of the global accountancy profession. I am also involved in supervising PhD students.

Prior to joining academia, I have had extensive experience working in accounting and finance in Asia, Europe and the United States. I started my academic career upon receiving scholarships from Stiftelsen FARs Jubileumsfond & Reidar Peters Stipendium. My doctoral dissertation focused on the development and use of global standards on sustainability assurance, analysing the phenomenon from both socio-legal & social science perspectives.

Teaching

I teach at the Department of Business Administration, Department of Business Law and Institute of Service Management. I am involved in courses at both the bachelor and master levels. These courses include Financial Accounting, International Auditing, Strategy and Management Control, and Law and Auditing.

Outreach

In the course of my research, I have developed an extensive network with academics; international organizations and practitioners. I am also engaged in sharing my expertise acting as a panel speaker in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Conference, the Sustainable Market Actors for Responsible Trade (SMART) conference and contributing to the work of international organisations including UNCTAD.
