Field of research: My core field of research is Intellectual Property Law, with a specialization in Patent Law, and technology regulation. Recently I have been focusing also in legal issues related to data as an object of rights and obligations and corresponding broader governance considerations.

Approach: My research is characterized by a collaborative and cross-boundary approach, which includes not only the inclusion of interdisciplinary elements, but also special attention to intersections between IP and a variety of fields and areas in both public and private law, for example: data protection, health/medical law, clinical trials and medical devices certification, human rights, international commercial law and contract law.

Focus: Currently, the main focus of my work are emerging technologies and their uses related to determinants of health, including not only, medical, biomedical and pharmaceutical innovations, but also AI, robots and digital tools; as well as technology suited to promote sustainability and resilience to health emergencies. 

 Research Interests: artificial intelligence and big data; robots, autonomous vehicles and internet of things; search engines, online platforms, games, immersive reality and digitalization; 3D printing; nanotechnology; synthetic biology; genome editing and human enhancement.
