Research

Anders Gudmundsson is Professor at the Division of Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology at Lund University, Faculty of Engineering (LTH). He has an MSc in Engineering physics from LTH 1986 and in 1996 he received a PhD on studies on particles-size selective sampling of aerosols relevant for deposition in the human lungs and onto the eyes. He became professor in 2017. He has worked in the field of aerosol research for more than 35 years. The research has often been multi-disciplinary and has been carried out in close collaboration with physician, toxicologists and occupational hygienists. He has studied the exposure of aerosols such as nano particles, diesel exhaust, non-exhaust emissions from vehicles and railways and studied the working environment for workers as hair dressers, cleaners and asphalt workers. The research has been done in vivo as working environment studies or controlled human exposure chamber studies, or in-vitro as cell or animal studies.
