Research

My main research area is chronic disease and multimorbidity, which are main challenges of the health-care system both in Sweden and abroad. Longer life is associated with higher degree of multimorbidity. Multimorbidity is associated with a higher need of primary care, other healthcare services and polypharmacy. Most of my research is conducted using large scale registry based studies and measures of multimorbidity. Focus is importance of primary care, prognosis and prediction.

In other studies we study the long term prognosis of an acute coronary syndrome and importance of riskfactors.

I have previously been professor of primary care at University of Southern Denmark (2010 -2015).
