Personal profile

Research

My research is about the relationship between education, the labour market, and economic and social change. The long-term perspective is important and my research could be said to deal with the economic history of education. Since the late 1990s my research has primarily been vocational education and training, not least apprenticeship training. Previously. I have  investigated the development of literacy in relation to the transformation of agriculture in 19th century Sweden. In short, my  research has long time perspectives and concerns large sections of the population.

Teaching

I have been teaching extensively for about 35 years at the undergraduate and graduate level on economic history in general as well as more specialised topics on human capital, education, and the labour market.
