Personal profile

Research

I am a historian and archivist at the Folklife Archives in Lund, where I have particular responsibility for the Mandelgren Collection, donated to Lund University by the art and cultural historian Nils Månsson Mandelgren (1813–1899). My research interests focus primarily on the history of the humanities during the nineteenth century, with particular attention to fields such as archaeology, anthropology, ethnology, historiography, geography, antiquarian studies, religious studies, art history, linguistics, and related disciplines. I am especially interested in the Nordic and German‑speaking regions, as well as in transnational history, notably the ways in which scholarly networks and collaborations have been established and developed across national boundaries.

I am currently working on publishing the Mandelgren Collection in the cultural heritage database Alvin and have authored several articles and book chapters based on this material. Among other topics, I have written on Mandelgren’s documentation of Swedish medieval churches in the nineteenth century, published in the eighth volume of the jubilee history of Lund Cathedral (Ideas and Worldviews).

In addition, I am a member of the public outreach group at Arkivcentrum Syd in Lund, where I collaborate with other archival institutions to organise exhibitions, lectures, and other public events.
