Research

My research is focused on the nonequilibrium carrier kinetics in semiconductor nanostructures. Here I apply general concepts from quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and electrodynamics to the description of devices, where quantum effects matter. Particular examples are the quantitative modeling of quantum cascade lasers, electrical and thermal transport in nanostructures, and optoelectronic elements based on nanowires.
