Research

I have experience of research involves applied quantitative and qualitative research within the area of health policy, health economics and health care organisation, governance and  management control in the context of the Swedish health care system but also in low-income-countries. This includes aspects of health care financing and provider payment systems. I also have experience in work and commissions from local national authorities (e.g. as expert on provider payment systems in Tillitsdelegationen during 2016-2017), international consulting firms, pharmaceutical companies, private health care companies, the National Corporation of Swedish Pharmacies, the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, the National Swedish Board on Health and Welfare, the European Observatory, the Commonwealth fund, WHO (Geneva and Copenhagen), The World Bank, Sida (Swedish international donor agency) and others in the above mentioned areas. Moreover, I have participated in research projects funded by research grants (e.g. Forte).

I defended my PhD thesis titeled “Objectives, actors and accountability in quasi-markets: Studies of Swedish primary care”in 2013 at Lund University School of Economics and Management. Current areas of research include different aspects and quality in Swedish primary care and studies on management, governance and accountability in health care, including aspects on principles for paying of providers.
