Personal profile

Research

My main research expertise is in the area of EU constitutional law, in particular the delimitation of competences. My work focuses on the structure of legal bases and general criteria for legal basis litigation in EU law. In my academic contributions, I have discovered several flaws inherent in the quest for the correct legal basis on the grounds of overlapping competences, divergent inter-institutional interests, and inconsistencies in the courts' judgments.

My wider research portfolio comprises more specific areas related to EU law, such as criminal law, competition law, and the EU monetary and economic competence conflict. In addition, I have conducted a significant amount of research in the area of digitalisation with particular focus on the DMA/DSA regulations, the digital competence, and the balancing of rights.
