Research

I work as a research engineer at the National laboratory of wood anatomy and dendrochronology. Research projects where I have been involved include dendrochronological investigations on the Gribshunden shipwreck and the churches of Västergötland.

I work in the project Old Wood in a New Light, financed by RJ. The project is a joint venture between the dendrochronological laboratories at Lund, Alnarp, Gothenburg and Stockholm together with the Environmental Archeaology laboratory at Umeå University. We will digitize the dendrochronological archives and make it available for continued research in the SEAD (Strategic Environmental Archeology Database) database www.sead.se.

I also work with sample preparation of 10Be och 36C in the project Past Solar Storm where the aim is to reconstruct sun activity during the last ca. 12 000 years.

I defended my PhD in June 2018 at the department of Geology. My thesis concerns an early Holocene (12,000-8000 years ago) submerged landscape at Haväng in the Baltic Sea. The submerged landscape consists of rooted trees, organic sediments and archaeological artefacts suggests that the water level in the Baltic Sea was once lower than at present. In my PhD project I explored this area with multiple methods in order to better understand the Baltic Sea development during the early Holocene and to create an environmental reconstruction of the area.
