Doctoral Student
I’m a doctoral student in Economic History, researching living standards over the life cycle in general and retirement in particular with a focus on the period before the welfare state. My interests are centered around how individuals and households dealt with life cycle related problems and the institutions to support them during such phases of hardship, especially declining work capacity during old age. However, disparities in living standards are also a primary concern in my research on life cycle incomes and retirement.
