Asta Cepaite Nilsson, senior lecturer in strategic communication at the Department of Strategic Communication at Lund University and program manager for the BA programs.

PhD in Media Technology, School of Computer Science and Communication, KTH (2006). Within the framework of doctoral education, I participated in the research program News 2020 and published reports on newspaper organizations' image of future news organizations. In 2006, a doctoral dissertation was presented at KTH, entitled Media producers and media consumers - out of step? In the dissertation, I studied the public's, advertisers' and journalists' images of the future of the printed newspaper in relation to other media.

Research interests lie mainly in the conditions and role of local journalism, in the strategic media work of local media organizations, media entrepreneurship and in media consumption and production. In addition, I am interested in political strategic communication with a focus on civic engagement and its democratic function, sustainability in civic participation processes and also, in how political communication is visualized and represented in the media.

My tasks include teaching at all levels, mainly in the subjects of organizational and political communication. I also supervise degree projects in the two bachelor's programs Strategic Communication and Strategic Communication - digital media and in the master's program. In addition to activities at ISK, I participate in education at LTH where I teach risk communication and at the Department of Communication and Media where I supervise degree projects in journalism education.
