Dr. Ayesha Fawad is a General Medicine specialist who has been practicing clinically in Sweden since 2010. She earned her PhD in 2022, where her research focused on the role of Proneurotensin hormone in cardiometabolic diseases. Currently, she is engaged in postdoctoral research at the Clinical Memory Research unit and MultiPark (Multidisciplinary research focused on Parkinson's disease) at Lund University. In this role, she is involved in the Swedish BioFINDER Primary Care study aimed at developing early diagnostic tools to identify Alzheimer's disease in its preclinical stages within primary healthcare settings. Her research interests involve around methods for early identification of individuals at risk of poor health or other vulnerabilities, using  social as well as biological markers.
