Research

I am a post-doc researcher at School of Social Work, Lunds University. I did my Ph.D from Norwegian University of Sciences and Technology (NTNU - Trondheim). My Ph.D research is an ethnographic study on infant healthcare belief practices and social value of the child in rural Punjab. With a psychological anthropological perspective this research produced five articles related to native anthropology, social value of the child, and a magico-religious interpretation of infant health care belief practices. My post-doc research project is about social resilience among young adult migrants adults living in Sweden. This is a qualitative research exploring the lived experiences of young adult migrants. Recently I published my article “Conceptualizing social resilience in the context of migrants’ lived experiences” in Geoforum. I discussed the issues in conceptualization social resilience in migration studies, and proposed a definition of social resilience in this context.
