Research

My research belongs to the field of gender studies, especially feminist and queer theories. My project on women, literature and Nazism resulted in the monography Brown pens (2012), dealing with Nazi women writers in Sweden in the 1930s. My thesis is that the women promoted Nazi politics in their novels and short stories and used them as political propaganda. Brown pens originated from my former project about women writers in the 1930s, Blod och jord (2008), which is about tendencies of Blut and Boden in the literature of that decade. The concept of Blut and Boden was adopted by the Nazis at the same time. These two projects are situated within FOLIO. This project group has also created an anthology (Palgrave due in 2013), dealing with every day life in Mass dictatorship. My article is about a childrens' book set in Nazi Germany in the thirties.

My research in the field of children's books has also resulted in an article about lesbian protagonists in an anthology about values pictured in childrens' books from 2012. In the project Hype in literature I am writing an article which deals with pornography and sexuality in a childrens' book from the 1970s. It was a result of the so called Swedish sin, a success and a hype!

Current project, Judgement and didactics, deals with women critics and reviewing. The project group, consisting of three scholars from three universities in Sweden, aims at producing the first Swedish History of Critics exclusively focusing on women critics
