Research

The focus of my research relates to palliative care and my research interest and expertise is to generate knowledge about living with and caring for people with chronic and severe illness, assessment of needs and non-pharmacological interventions. Another important theme of my research is to explore elements of the ward climate facilitating health and healing, and developing instruments as means to provide outcome measures for interventions studies. Our knowledge within the field of palliative care is more advanced today, at least in some areas, making the move from descriptive and explorative to interventions studies, possible. The latter being the focus of my engagement in research projects related to implementing a Swedish Palliative Care Guide and a palliative care approach in primary care, nursing homes and acute care settings.
