Personal profile

Research

My research interests cover networked and distributed systems, especially wireless systems and resource management. I currently focus on different aspects of medium access control in unlcensed spetrum systems such as the IEEE 802.11 family of standards. I am interested in researching performance bounds and improvements to the generally chaotic nature of these systems through performance modeling and optimisation strategies. I have also worked with vehicular networks and risk modelling / mitigation in road traffic networks.

I am also interested in architectures for distributed systems and their application to mobile systems. Especially, I want to know more about the relative advantages/disadvantages of mobile edge cloud compting, content management and distribution and the possibilities of sharing resources in a dynamic and mobile environment.
