Personal profile

Research

My research group of Small-scale dosimetry (which is finished due to age) has developed radiation dosimetry models based on micro-anatomical structures of radiation sensitive organs and tissues. My main interest is still radiation protection dosimetry and radiobiology. The aim of the research was to apply a dosimetry model and use autoradiography techniques in order to visualize a non-uniform radioactivity distribution in the tissues, calculate the radiation dose to different targets in the tissue and relate to biological effects, detected by immunofluorescence techniques.

Teaching

I am registered medical physicist and professor of medical radiation physics. I have a pronounced interest in pedagogics, didactics and digital learning. I have extensive teaching experience and have been deeply involved in academic teaching, training and supervision of numerous target groups; students at basic and advanced levels, Ph.D. students, nurses, medical doctors, junior and senior medical physicists and others health professions for more than 35 years. I have a wide-ranging experience in course and programme development, as well as preparation of syllabuses, core curriculums and professional competences for medical radiation physicists, nationally as well as internationally.

In my commission as pro-dean 2012-2017 at the Faculty of Science, I among other things, initiated and promoted an enhanced school collaboration in Skåne and been actively involved in the establishment of a research school in science communication. I was pro vice-chancellor 2017-2020 for third-cycle education, widening participation, and development of quality assurance systems. I chaired the Research Programmes Board and the Library Board, and represented Lund University in the LERU Policy Group Doctoral studies, the LERU Learning and Teaching Policy Group and the U21 Educational Innovation Steering Group. I was also a member of the Association for Swedish Higher Education (SUHF) expert group on quality issues as well as of the task force for refugee affairs. I am now ending my academic career by serving as the Head of the Unit for Educational Support.
