Personal profile

Research

I am a member of the Research Policy Group at Lund University School of Economics and Management, where I carry out interdisciplinary research on the governance and management of private and public research and innovation undertakings. My research focuses on the role of science, technology and innovation in development and economic growth. This includes issues related to technology transfer, capacity building and impact of new technologies, particularly in the area of information and communication technologies. In a related line of research, I study the role of universities in innovation systems and development as coordinator of the Network on the Evolving Role of Academic Institutions in Innovation Systems and Development (UniDev), which involves national research teams in 12 countries. The project analyses the changing demands for knowledge production in academic institutions, brought on by the rise of the knowledge-based society, and the need to define the role of the university in developed, semi-developed or embryonic national innovation systems.
