In 2020 I did my master's thesis on accidental emissions of nanowires from epitaxially grown substrates in a lab environment due to unintentional tweezer scratching during handling. In 2021 I started working on aerosol properties of Carbon Nanotube-enhanced concrete as early work in understanding the future occupational exposure during demolition. My PhD is focused on aerosol properties of nano-enabled building materials towards the end of the life-cycle.
My research takes a cross-disciplinary approach to assess current applications of nanotechnology in construction materials, the effects of nanomaterials on emissions throughout the life-cycle of different construction material and finally the implications for current and future occupational exposures.
