Personal profile
Research
My research centres on the topic of ethnic identity and everyday racism. My PhD dissertation highlighted the importance of representations for the creation and maintenance of collective identities such as "Swedes" and "immigrants". In the research project "Adoption, discrimination and ethnic identity" I studied adoptees and adoptive parents' experiences of discrimination on the basis of skin colour and other "etnic markersr", and identity strategies linked to a "non-Swedish" appearance.
