Personal profile

Research

I am a theoretical philosopher with a special interest in the borderland between belief and disbelief, and the many non-doxastic attitudes, like hope, fear, and faith, by which we navigate any context of uncertainty.

I am currently working on a non-doxastic theory of disinformation, in a minor project funded by the foundation "Erik Philip Sörensen's stiftelse". The project investigates disinformation from the perspective of epistemic pollution. I am developing a modell according to which disinformation manufactures uncertainty through the spread of epistemic possibilities.

Much of my previous work has concerned non-doxasticism in relation to the epistemology of religion, and as a tool to understand how people relate to not just religion but any personal worldview. My dissertation Beyond Belief concerned non-doxasticism in relation to traditional religion and my post-doc project Beyond Faith out matters in a broader, worldview perspective.

I have also worked extensively on religious fictionalism, which I compare to a role-playing game.
