Personal profile

Research

I graduated in Economics in 2005 and I got my PhD in Epidemiology in 2010 at the University of Ancona (Italy). I have collaborated with the Italian National Institute of Health and Science on Ageing (INRCA) between 2008 and 2017. In 2011 I have been guest researcher at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). But since 2012, I regularly collaborate since 2012 with CASE - Center for Ageing and Supportive Environment - at Lund University, dividing my time between Sweden and Italy.

In my past professional experience, I have been consultant for many health organizations in projects aimed at improving services organisation. Now, my research interests span from health services research, new technology for care, and health economics. I also have a special interest for the area of dementia care, since I have coordinated a number of triasl (UP-TECH and TECH@HOME project), aimed at improving the provision of care for dementia patients using of AAL technologies.

I am co-founder of a start-up company in Italy, Tech4Care Srl (www.tech4care.it), which aims to develop innovative ICT solutions for supporting healthy ageing and wellbeing through the use of Virtual Reality and/or home-based sensors networks.
