Personal profile

Research

I am a post-doctoral reasercher with a PhD in marketing. My research interests lie at the nexus of consumption, retail and sustainability. I am particularly interested in the responsibilisation of the neoliberal citizen. In other words, how societal discourses and norms encourage consumers to willingly discipline themselves and control their consumption. I am the deputy director of the interdisciplinary Centre for Retail Research where I work to communicate cutting edge retail and sustainability research to individuals and companies.

When I am not working, I run a blog and social media brand called Buy Less Be More, which focuses on anti-consumption.
