Research

The overall aim of our research is to identify novel concenpts for the prevention and treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes and their cardiovascular complications. Currently our three specific aims are to: 1) Investigate the potential of black currant and other polyphenol-rich berries and foods to improve metabolic health; 2) Define the role of hormone-sensitive lipase in endocannabinoid signaling and thereby regulation of energy homeostasis and 3) define the role of bile acids as regulators of glucose homeostasis.
