I took my PhD exam at Umeå University 2006. My thesis focused on evaluating the effects of intensive arm and hand training after stroke (Constraint Induced Movement Therapy).

My current research, which I conduct together with several postdocs, is primarily about rehabilitation in persons with neurological disorders, such as stroke, post-polio and Parkinsons disease. I lead projects where we evaluate recovery and remaning disabilities in the short and long term, evaluate psychometric measurements of outcome measurements and rating scales, and effects of different rehabilitation interventions including physical activity.

I am main supervisor to PhD student Sara Brycke who evaluates consequenses of post-stroke fatigue and associated factors in the short-and long term, and to Johanna Willcox who investigates functioning and disability in children and adolescents 5-10 years after their cancerdiagnoses. I am also assistant supervisor to several doctoral students.
