Senior lecturer
Daiva Daukantaitė, Ph.D., works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology at Lund University where she primarily teaches advanced level courses on Statistics and Methodology.
Daiva has experience working in and leading projects on various mental health issues. She is a principal investigator (PI) of the on-going FORTE-financed project investigating non-suicidal self-harm and its relationship with aggression, victimization, and other mental health problems. The current research group, in addition to Daiva, contains: Professor Lars-Gunnar Lundh, Margit Wångby-Lundh, Ph.D, Jonas Bjärehed, Ph.D, Tove Lundberg, Ph.D., and two Ph.D. students - Benjamin Claréus and Lo Foster (all from the Department of Psychology, Lund University).
Daiva is also a co-applicant for a VR-financed (2016-2018) project (PI: Lena Flyckt), which is investigating the use of the Brief Admission as an intervention for individuals with borderline personality disorder who are engaging in self-harm and are at risk for suicide. Daiva is involved in the co-project regarding Southern Sweden, in which she has primary responsibility for the methodological and statistical issues. The research group of the co-project regarding Southern Sweden, in addition to Daiva, is Sofie Westling, Ph.D., MD (main responsible for the co-project; from the Unit for Clinical Suicide Research, Lund University), Sophie Liljedahl, Ph.D. (from the Department of Psychology, Lund University), Marjolein Helleman, PhD. (from the Radboud Medical Center, the Netherlands) .
Daiva is also the main research coordinator in a project that involves studying whether changes in health-related psychological measures as a result of yoga practice correspond to predictable changes in health-related physiological measures (Professor Olle Melander at the department of Clinical Science in Malmö is responsible for the physiological measures). The research group, in addition to Daiva and Olle, contains Una Tellhed, PhD., Rachel Maddux, Ph.D. (both from the Department of Psychology, Lund University) and Thomas Svensson (from the Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö).
