Research

Daniel Twohig is a Hjärnfonden postdoctoral fellow withing the Neural Stem Cells research group headed by Prof. Anna Falk. He has an Honours Bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Chemistry and Biology from Brock University in St. Catharines, Canada, and a Research Master’s degree in Neurosciences from Vrije University in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2021 he earned a doctorate in Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology from Stockholm University in Stockholm, Sweden, where he studied the role of alpha-synuclein in Alzheimer's disease. Currently, Daniel is working towards developing therapeutic preclinical and clinical grade neural stem cell products to repair brain damage caused by ischemic stroke.
