Research

Diamanto Politis is a Professor in Business Adminstration, specializing in Entrepreneurship, and the Director of Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKJCE). Diamanto’s research is broadly concerned with entrepreneurial learning and education. Specifically, she studies how enterprising individuals inside and outside academia develop skills and knowledge that enhance their ability to recognize and exploit entrepreneurial opportunities. Her research also connects with university-based entrepreneurial ecosystems and the role of universities in stimulating regional entrepreneurship and innovation. In this effort, she has conducted several studies on entrepreneurship education, innovation intermediaries, and alumni engagement.

Diamanto is an active member of the international research community. She is currently member of the International advisory board for ENGAGE (Centre for Engaged Education through Entrepreneurship), board member of the Centre for Innovation Research (CIRCLE), member of the Scientific and Publication Committee of the European University Network on Entrepreneurship (ESU network) and chair of the Award committee for the European Entrepreneurship Education Award (EEEA). She is also serving as a mentor in the ECSB Career Mentoring Program.

Diamanto referees for reputable entrepreneurship and management journals (Academy of Management Learning & Education, Journal of Business Venturing, Small Business Economics, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Small Business Management, and Entrepreneurship Regional & Development). She has been on the editorial review board of the journal of Academy of Management Learning & Education (AMLE), and is currently part of the Editorial board of Entreprendre & Innover.

Diamanto regularly contributes to international conferences, and she is widely published in leading journals within the discipline of management, including fields of entrepreneurship and innovation. For instance, her work appears in journals like Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Small Business Economics, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Journal of Small Business Management, and International Small Business Journal. She has also received several honors for her work and been awarded for best papers at Babson (BCERC) and RENT.
