Personal profile

Research

I am a doctoral student in the project "Liveability at the crossroad of religion, gender and sexuality”. In my dissertation project I focus on Jewish, Christian and Muslim LGBTQIA+ people's experiences of religious communities and of practicing religion in Sweden. The project is presented more in depth on our webpage: www.levbarhet.se

I hold a bachelor's and a master's degree in Gender Studies from Södertörn University as well as a higher education certificate in Folk High School Education from Linköping University.

In my master's thesis “The politics of the disobedient body: a feminist study of embodied resistance in extra-parliamentary social movements” I explored the lived experiences of activists within the Swedish extra-parliamentary left through ethnographic interviews focusing on embodied experiences of resistance, (police)violence, care, and community.

Professional work

Before being admitted as a doctoral student, I worked as a folk high school teacher with aesthetic forms of expression and aesthetic learning processes together with adult participants studying Swedish as a second language. Previously I have worked as a project manager on a project on creative activism within a social movement organisation dedicated to non-violence, peace, and justice.
