Personal profile

Research

I am a PhD student in the Lund Cardiac MR Group at the Department of Clinical Physiology, Skåne University Hospital, Lund. My research focuses on patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). The arteries in the lungs are affected in both diseases, with increased resistance of blood flow putting an increased amount of stress on the right side of the heart, leading to significant morbidity and mortality.

The aim of my thesis is to evaluate novel cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging methods, for prognostication and hemodynamic assessment in patients with PAH and CTEPH. With these novel imaging methods, the hope is to increase knowledge about how the diseases affect heart function, as well as help guide treatment.
