Research

My research focuses on travel behaviour when travelling for leisure purposes. Leisure travel stands for a great proportion of the total distance travelled by car in Sweden today, and thus is a major contributor to the greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. Yet we do not know much about how to change behaviours in relation to leisure travel. In order to find appropriate measures addressed specifically at achieving more sustainable leisure trips, we need to know more about the motivations that affect which trips people make, and which trips are the most important for people’s perceived well-being.
