Research

Erica works within the research project “IRMA – Identifying Risk and Resilience for Mental Illness during Childhood and Adolescence.” IRMA is a research study on child development with a particular focus on mental health problems. The aim is to identify the most important risk and protective factors, with the long-term goal of preventing mental health difficulties in young people. The study examines personal characteristics, environmental factors, and biological factors, with a special focus on children of parents with psychiatric conditions.

 

Erica completed her PhD within the research project Sensory Noise as a Possible Non-Pharmacological Intervention for Children with ADHD. This project investigates the effects of white noise stimulation across different modalities (auditory, visual, and electrical) in children with ADHD, with the hypothesis that such stimulation will enhance cognitive abilities in this group.
