Research

Although emissions of organic compounds are generally thought of as something connected to human activities, the emissions from forests and plants are actually larger. My research concerns the atmospheric aging (oxidation) of both biogenic and anthropogenic compounds, after which they can form particles. Atmospheric particles are an important factor in earth's radiation budget as they scatter light themselves and are key components in cloud formation.
