Research

My research focuses on wood, wood adhesive joints and timber engineering where much development has taken place in Sweden since the mid-1990s, when it again became allowed to build high-rise buildings in wood. Through experimental studies and computer based analysesmethods, the research aims to increase the use of wood in construction. More knowledge about wood as an engineering material is crucial to our future possiblility to produce high added value products in order to secure Sweden's future competitiveness within the forestry-based sector. The fact that an increased use of wood in construction combined with a sustainable forestry management also involves major climatic benefits is of course also a major driving force.
