Personal profile

Professional work

I was born in 1970. Since the autumn semester of 2024, I am a professor of practical theology. I have previously held various positions as a researcher in projects supported by the Riksbank's Jubilee Fund and by the European Research Council. During the period 2011-2020, I worked as director of ministries for the Diocese of Växjö.

Research

My dissertation from 2002 analysed anti-Catholicism as an expression of English national identity in the 19th century. In my later research I have worked on a wide range of church historical and practical theological themes. These include studies on gender and Christian mission, international networks of Christian communities, early modern historiography, secularisation, revivalism and modernisation, and church organisational culture.

I am currently working on projects that touch on areas such as organisation, spatiality and material culture. I am also part of various projects that explore the concept of existential sustainability, including the project ‘Space for Ageing’ which is funded by the Kamprad Foundation. I am also part of an international research network investigating civil society network formations during the Cold War.
