Personal profile

Research

My research is motivated by the effects of atmospheric aerosols on climate, environment and human health. I have more than 35 years of experience in atmospheric aerosol science (measurement technology, emissions, particle formation, transformation and dynamics, particle hygroscopic growth and aerosol-cloud interactions, long-range transport, source-receptor relationships, particle deposition in the human respiratory tract).

My research includes a combination of laboratory experiments, instrument development, field intensive campaign as well as long-term aerosol measurements at various sites, process modeling of aerosol dynamics and chemical composition, and implementation of aerosol processes in climate and air quality models.

I am Swedish national contact person for the ESFRI Landmark environmental research infrastructure ACTRIS (Aerosols, Clouds, Trace gases Research Infrastructure, www.actris.eu) and coordinate the Swedish national reaserch infrastructure for short-lived climate pollutants ACTRIS Sweden.
