Personal profile

Research

The main focus of my research is human exposure to environmental contaminants, with special interest in pesticides and PFAS. I want to know which chemicals we come in contact with everyday and if, and how, they are taken up into the body and what health effects that could cause in different population groups.

I've been involved in several human biomonitoring projects, which aims to identify and mitigate our exposure to harmful chemicals:

  • HÄMI (Swedish National Health-related biomonitoring program) funded by Swedish EPA
  • PARC (Partnership on the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals) co-funded by the European Union
