Research

Eva Hoff is an associate professor at Lund University and has worked at the department of psychology, LU, since 2008. She supervises doctoral students (three presently, and three that have finished fulfilled the PhD program) and thesis students at Candidate and Master level and teaches Developmental, Organizational and Personality Psychology, Creativity and Gender at basic and advanced levels. Research involves :

  • Creativity in schools and in the organizational world and studies creative teams and creativity conducive conditions. How play can enhance creativity at work places has also been explored and the relationship between creative classroom climate and motivation with cross-cultural comparisons. The role of physical environment is also under study.
  • One goal is to develop different interventions for a sustainable work life, both anti-discrimination, creativity and well-being workshops for organizations exist and preliminary results indicate that REACT-equal raise compassion and decrease stigmatizing thought, and that TREAT has an effect on well-being. CREATE, the creativity-program is about to be tested in 2023.
  • Within developmental psychology, self-image, well-being, attachment and executive functions are explored in children, adolescents and young adults. The role of the outdoor environment in relation to well-being is another area of interest that is explored in a present PhD project at Alnarp Agricultural University. Another goal is to see how positive psychology interventions can buffer well-being in school.
  • A further research interest is to investigate the function of imagination and imaginary worlds in both adults and children.
  • Finally, self-experiences in relation to different populations have been investigated. In qualitative interviews the self of high-performing women professionals has been followed, as well as patients’ and therapists’ self-experiences in the process of therapy to treat psychosis.
