I am a senior lecturer in health sciences (midwifery), Ph.D with specializing in reproductive, perinatal and sexual health (RPSH). I took my degree in nursing in 1975, midwifery in 1978 and defended my PhD thesis in 2010. I am course co-ordinator for the midwifery program at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University and supervising a Ph.D student, Petra Palsson, whose thesis looks at parenthood support during pregnancy.

My research is within two areas, the midwives main field of work; reproductive, perinatal and sexual health (RPSH) and also within pedagogics with regard to health sciences. My PhD thesis was about both parents' sense of security the first week after birth. I developed an instrument to measure sense of security during the first week after birth, Parents' Postnatal Sense of Security (PPSS) and I also identified various factors that are important for the perception of security during this period. Within RPSH, my research is mainly about the first period after childbirth and also focuses on the partner's perspective and role. My pedagogical research is primarily about learning and professional development within the midwifery program, in which the value of midwifery students' written daily reflections of their placement on the labour ward are studied. The pedagogical research is also about the case methodology, which is a cross-faculty EQ-11 projects.
