Research

The overall aim of the research group is to better understand causative and regulatory factors, their potential for modification of osteoporosis and fragility fractures and subsequent avoidance of new fractures. The research strategy employs an integrated approach to strengthen the translational aspects, connecting basic science and clinical research by1) Risk assessment in large, well-characterized population-based cohorts 2) Genetic association studies in phenotypically relevant cohorts 3) Experimental studies of human bone tissue and in animal models and 4) translational studies applying research findings to clinical situations.
