Personal profile

Research

Frida Fåk Hållenius is Associate Professor in Molecular Nutrition, with expertise in host-microbiota interactions of importance for gut, brain and metabolic health. My work primarily focuses on understanding the role of microorganisms in inflammatory processes and their impact on lifestyle- and diet-related diseases, and their interactions with food components.

I am is particularly interested in how dietary components and probiotics influence the gut microbiota and, in turn, affect human health. My research often explores the relationships between nutrition, gut health, and overall well-being, with an emphasis on how different diets and food components can modulate the gut microbiome to promote health.

Through my work, I try to contribute to the fields of microbiology, nutrition, and health sciences, often collaborating with other researchers to study the health effects of dietary interventions. I hope to significantly expand our understanding of the complex interactions between diet, microbiota, and health.
