Researching rural and agrarian development i India and in sub-Saharan Africa

Current research

1) Completed a monograph on Agrarian structural transformation in India. (forthcoming Routledge 2016)

2) Yield gaps in sub-Saharan Africa: Socio-political and biophysical causes of suboptimal yields among African smallholders. Together with human geographers and agronomists developing new methods using unmanned aerial vehicles and remote sensor data, combined with conventional survey data.
