Gertrud Sandqvist, b 1955, professor in the theory and history of ideas of visual art.
Sandqvist has been working as an art critic and curator since 1981.
She has been the Dean at Malmö Art Academy from 1995-2007 and from 2010 –, Dean School of Photography Valand, (1994-95), director of Galleri F 15, (1992-94); editor-in – chief of siksi- the Nordic art magazine, (1985-1990); editor of Paletten (1981-83). Recent exhibitions: curator Siksi- the Nordic Miracle revisited, Galleri F 15, (2015); curator Red Dawn, HISK, Ghent, (2014); curator Against Method, Generali Vienna, (2013); curator Channeled Lunds Konsthall, (2013); co-curator GIBCA, (2011) and co-curator Modernautställningen, Moderna Museet, (2010). She has been writing about a number of artists, including Olav Christopher Jenssen, Nina Roos, Lars Nilsson, Matts Leiderstam, Cristina Iglesias and Heimo Zobernig
