Personal profile

Research

I’m an occupational therapist, currently working as chief occupational therapist at Skåne University Hospital Lund-Malmö. My clinical background is from neurology and neuro-rehabilitation, with a special interest in cognitive rehabilitation.

I defended my PhD thesis titled Cognitive function after cardiac arrest and targeted temperature managament in November 2015, and my main research focus continues to be long-term outcome, and especially cognitive impairment after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and more recently extened to other patients groups requiring ICU care (post intensive care syndrome, PICS) as severe Covid-19 and Sepsis. Reserach projects included the international multi center trials TTM-trial and TTM2 and  the regional  SWECRIT Covid-19 study. I have also been involved in the design of the follow up part of the DISCO trial and the soon to start REDUSE trial.

Except from this I have been involved in the writing process of  European and Swedish guidelines on follow up and rehabilitation after cardiac arrest, as well as an international Core Outcome Set for Cardiac Arrest trials. I'm a member of the Swedish Resuscitation Council working group of Post cardiac arrest care and their Scientific group, I'm also in the working group of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROM) in the Swedish Cardiopulmonary registry.

In addition I participate as one of three in the conference organization comitte for the International symposium on Post Cardiac Arrest Care that is held in Lund every second year.

I'm co-supervisor to five PhD students; 1 psychologist, 1 physioterapist, 2 RN specialised in ICU-care and 1 intensivist.
