Research
I am a Professor of Nursing and chair of Children‘s nursing at the University of Iceland and the National University Hospital at Landspitali in Reykjavik. I am currently working on a project with my research group on the impact of intensive care on children and their parents focusing on a variety of risk factors. Stress and wellbeing being a special focus in developing clinical interventions to promote wellbeing and prevent post-traumatic stress and distress. One of the special populations I am studying is children who travel from Iceland to Lund in Sweden for Cardiac surgery due to Cardiac Hearth Disease and their parents.
