I am Associate professor and Senior lecturer at the Division of Book History and teacher at the Division of Fashion Studies. My research interests cover a wide range of areas: mass-produced and instructive images, printing techniques, sewing patterns and the introduction of man-made fibres.

In my dissertation Botanical illustrations for the public: On the publication of Carl Lindman's Bilder ur Nordens flora (2013), I examined how the botanical plates were created, distributed and received based on the given conditions at the beginning of the 20th century: botanical science, ideas about education, pictorial conventions, economical circumstances, printing technique and book market. 

My research project "Reading Patterns: Women, Clothes and Print Culture in Sweden 1881–1981", was financed by the Swedish Research Council 2019–2022. The project concerns the production, distribution and reading of paper patterns for home sewing of women's clothes in Sweden. 

In collaboration with Henning Hansen, PhD in Book History, research librarian at The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities in Stockholm, I am studying “Swedish primers 1700–1900”, partly funded by Ridderstads stiftelse för historisk grafisk forskning.

Together with Dr Pernilla Rasmussen, textile and fashion historian, senior lecturer in fashion studies at the Department of Arts and Cultural Science, Lund University, I am heading the research project ”Between fashion and material”, which examines Arnberg’s corset factory in Höganäs, funded by Ebbe Kocks stiftelse and Gyllenstiernska Krapperupsstiftelsen.

Furthermore, I am working on a textbook on the history and identification of printed images, funded by Einar Hansens Allhemsstiftelse.
