Professor emeritus

Personal profile

Gunnar Liden received his MSc in Chemical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, 1985, and PhD in Chemical Reaction Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, 1993. He obtained his current position as professor in Chemical Engineering at Lund university in 1999. The research interests of G Lidén are fermentation and enzyme technology with special emphasis on lignocellulose conversion. He has a general interest in Biochemical engineering, a subject in which has co-authored a textbook and also regularly teaches. His main previous scientific contributions have concerned fermentation technology for efficient lignocellulose conversion into ethanol, but his focus has shifted to other fermentation products, such as carboxylic acids, and other raw materials such as lignin in recent years.
