Håkan Eftring, PhD and Assistant Professor at Certec, division of Rehabilitation Engineering Research at the Department of Design Sciences, Lund University, Sweden. My research areas include social and assistive robotics, universal design and user-centered design and evaluation methods. In my doctoral dissertation I introduced the concept of useworthiness. The concept is related to the user’s values, needs, wishes and dreams, rather than the more technical relation between the user and the technology. I have more than 20 years’ experience of European research projects.
