Research

I am the co-founder of two large research centres at Lund University: Center for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning Economy (CIRCLE) which is a research centre on innovation studies, and Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKJCE) focusing on entrepreneurship research and education.

In 2017 I was selected as the Wilford L. White Fellow of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB). The fellowship recognizes and honours “leadership and commitment to the growth, development and advocacy of small and medium entrepreneurial enterprises throughout the world.”

My research interests include entrepreneurial finance, venture capital and business angels, entrepreneurial education, and the history of entrepreneurship as a research field. Author of 15 books and edited books, and my articles have been published in journals such as Research Policy, Journal of Business Venturing, Small Business Economics, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, and Journal of Small Business Management.

Teaching

Teaching entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance at different academic levels, from undergraduate courses to master's level courses, and PhD programs.

Involved in doctoral consortia at international conferences.

Chairman of the Award Committee of the European Entrepreneurship Education Award (EEEA)..

Outreach

Invited speaker at different industry-related seminars.

Researcher for policy-oriented agencies.
